What file size should my pictures be?
The photos you upload may not be larger than three megabytes each.
If they are larger, you will need to resize them
using a simple photo editing program such as Microsoft Paint (you can find this program under the "Start Menu" >
"Accessories" > "Paint") or Adobe Photoshop. Windows XP users can download and install an easy to use tool from Microsoft called
Image Re-sizer Powertoy (The direct to download this
program can be found
here).
Once your image is resized to reduce its file size to under 3MB you can upload it.
What resolution should my pictures be?
The maximum recommended resolution for photos is 640x480 (width X height). If your photos are larger
than 640x480, they will be automatically resized to this resolution. This ensures that your
photos are not too large, and each visitor will have an enjoyable experience.
Do I need to upload photo thumbnails?
There is no need to upload thumbnails.
Once your photos are uploaded they will automatically be
resized to fit correctly on your website, and thumbnails (smaller versions) are also automatically created as well!
Thumbnails help speed up web browsing and are an added convenience to your visitors.
Why is my upload taking so long?
If you have selected to upload several photos and they are fairly large, it may take a few minutes
for them to upload. For a slower modem connection, it may take several minutes for
this step to complete. If you are experiencing difficulty uploading your photos, try uploading only
1 to start with, and then upload the rest later once you've completed the wizard.
